About the category

Valuable assets enable dramatically better ‘business’ performance of its core users without proportionately higher capital or operational investments.

Examples might include schools with higher student attainment, hospitals with better patient recovery time, offices with improved workforce productivity, or retail space generating higher sales.

Judges are looking for project teams/organisations that demonstrate how they first identified 'needs' and then kept the end users and owners at the very centre of a built asset’s design, construction and operation.

Judges will welcome benchmarked evidence of actual or projected increases in user performance, together with evidence of how that performance will be sustained.

Winners might highlight profitable new or improved products/services that have arisen from focusing on the occupier/users needs, and/or how the approach has led to winning new work.
